Description
Drawn a couple of years ago, this piece has oxidised beautifully, showing a stunning petrol sheen over a surface which has been worked in places almost to a beaten metal, very organic texture.
I love the movement in peony seedheads, the curves and shadows are somehow so secretive, and I usually have a few dried ones tucked about the studio.
Unlike most silverpoint acrylic grounds, this casein-based gesso gives a rich depth of tone and just asks for bold marks.
